Sin embargo, la mayoría de los profesionales sanitarios, desconocen su base científica y su parte práctica, lo que les impide realizar un adecuado asesoramiento a los padres y madres que eligen seguir este planteamiento con sus hijos. Y esto puede ser peligroso, ya que los padres y madres se informan por su cuenta, pueden acudir no siempre a fuentes fiables de información, por lo que urge dar a conocer en profundidad este enfoque ante profesionales sanitarios que trabajen con niños.
Con esta finalidad, en este libro se hace una recopilación de las últimas evidencias científicas sobre la alimentación complementaria y en concreto, sobre el planteamiento Baby-Led Weaning, así como recomendaciones prácticas para evitar posibles riesgos e ideas de recetas saludables adaptadas a bebés que empiezan a comer con este enfoque.
