En este libro se describe un nuevo sistema de descubrimiento de servicios llamado SEDINU (SErvice DIscovery for Nomadic Users), el cual ofrece un soporte computacional y comunicacional para facilitar la interaccion entre un usuario nomada y los servicios ofrecidos por el area actual donde el se encuentra, asi como la interaccion entre usuarios nomadas inmersos en dicha area. Estos tipos de interaccion dependen de un contexto especifico, definido en terminos de rol, localizacion y objetivos de los usuarios. El sistema propuesto permite a un usuario nomada: 1) seleccionar y ejecutar un servicio cuantas veces sea necesario; 2) interactuar con otros usuarios nomadas; 3) disponer de aplicaciones (formularios) para interactuar facilmente con los servicios ofrecidos por el area autonoma actual, e.g., provision de informacion requerida por esta area como identificacion y perfil del usuario; 4) crear redes ad hoc (dentro del area actual) para permitir la transferencia de informacion entre usuarios nomadas y los empleados de la organizacion, e.g., transferencia de recibos electronicos y aprobacion de entrega de equipos.
